Thanks to the brilliant leadership at Salish Lodge and their great desire to make a then unequalled commitment to the future of not just the honeybee but also the environment, they made this Apiary happen and will proudly present their honey in the coming years in every way imaginable. I am deeply honored to have been the instrument for this historical moment and am eternally grateful to the torchbearing Gregory Roper, who facilitated the entire production with a simple invitation to present my case for honeybees @ hotels and resorts. The staff at the Lodge is exemplary and have met the program with great cheer and support; I really cant imagine a better place for Shipwreck bees to forage. Below are two quotes that I feel sum things up nicely and below that, the link for the official press release.

"Shipwreck Apiaries LLC closes a 4 Hive deal with Salish Lodge to begin an ecological and historical new chapter for both Hoteliers and Pacific Northwest beekeepers alike, being the first hotel/lodge in the Seattle area to add a program of its kind. Monumentally significant to raising awareness of the plight of the Honeybee, this deal also serves up sustainability in a first rate fashion: right to the lodge menu.
Make sure you ask for it when you stop by."-Sullivan, Shipwreck Honey

“We have been searching for the perfect opportunity and partnership to bring honeybees to Salish for a long time. When we met Daniel and learned about the passion and care that goes into his work, we knew it was a match made in heaven,”said John Murphy, general manager at Salish Lodge. “With his dedication to ensuring that our hives flourish and produce, we expect to share our truly local, sustainable, signature Salish honey with our guests within one year. It doesn't get more local than this and our excitement simply cannot be contained.”
